Mayor's Office
The City of Rayne operates under the Mayor–Board of Aldermen form of government established by the Louisiana Lawrason Act (La. R.S. 33:321 et seq.). The Mayor serves as the chief executive officer of the city, responsible for day-to-day administration, enforcement of ordinances, and supervision of city departments.

Board of Aldermen
The Board of Aldermen is the legislative body of the city. Its members adopt the municipal budget, enact ordinances, and set policy. Members are elected by ward to serve the residents of Rayne and welcome input from the community at public meetings.
Public Meetings, Agendas & Minutes
Regular meetings of the Board of Aldermen are held on the second Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. All meetings are open to the public.
Louisiana Open Meetings Law (La. R.S. 42:11 et seq.): Meeting notices and agendas are posted at City Hall and on this website at least 24 hours in advance of each meeting. Citizens have the right to attend and to comment on agenda items. To request accommodations to participate, contact the City Clerk at least 48 hours before the meeting.

Incorporated in 1883, Rayne grew up along the railroad in the heart of Acadia Parish and became known the world over as the "Frog Capital of the World." The city has long balanced its small-town character with civic pride — a legacy carried forward by today's elected leadership.
