Rayne earned its nickname as the "Frog Capital of the World" more than a century ago, and the city has embraced it ever since. Come for the world-famous murals, stay for the food, the music, and the warmest welcome in Acadiana — it's a small town with a big personality.

Louisiana City of Murals

Rayne holds the official designation of the Louisiana City of Murals — the result of a cooperative effort between the City of Rayne and the citizen-led Rayne Beautification Board. The Board commissioned Robert Dafford, an internationally renowned muralist, to decorate the blank brick walls of downtown buildings with renderings of the town's history and its claim to fame: frogs. Today the murals form a self-guided walking tour through the heart of Rayne.

Rayne Frog Festival

The 55th Rayne Frog Festival is May 6–8, 2027 with a full schedule of music, food and drinks, and signature events — frog racing and jumping, the Rayne Lions Club Derby Queen pageant, the Diaper Derby, an Arts & Crafts show at the Civic Center, and the Grande Parade.
